Licencing Guide for Hexagon Products 2023
Please do not issue all your 500 licences to your server: leave some to give out for student and staff for off-network use.
How to Generate a Server Licence
Generate licences by using the new licence portal here. The licence administrator specified at purchase or renewal of the licences will be able to register to login to the licence portal. Once registered they can authorise other users. If there are issues logging in please contact us at support@geospatial-insight.com.

How to Generate an Off-site Licence (home working/learning use)
Use the procedure above, but just select one seat.
Software downloads are now only available while logged into the licencing portal. You will have to make the downloaded installer available to your users if necessay. Institutions need to ensure all home licence users will abide by the T&Cs (especially, but not limited to, no commercial or paid for work).
How to Licence a Client Machine Using a Licence Server
Follow all the steps above to licence the server, then client side go into the Hexagon Geospatial Licencing Administration program, View > Add Concurrent Licence Source and type in the computer name of the server. This can either be the IP address or the given computer name.

Should You Licence Using a Server?
All machines can be used as a licence server for Hexagon Products, as the licencing administrator program will manage the licences for you. It is beneficial to licence using a server when you wish to share a few licences over many machines.
